We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Logistics Coordinator to join our team in the automotive manufacturing sector. This role is responsible for overseeing the efficient movement of goods across Canada, the USA, and Mexico, while also managing our local delivery operations. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of customs, brokerage, and trade regulations, combined with hands-on experience in dispatching drivers, vehicle maintenance coordination, and compliance with transportation regulations.
Key Responsibilities::
Coordinate and monitor all import and export shipments across North America (Canada, USA, Mexico), ensuring adherence to all customs and trade regulations, including USMCA/CUSMA/T-MEC
Prepare and manage documentation such as commercial invoices, bills of lading, USMCA certificates, and customs declarations
Work closely with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods
Accurately assign tariff codes (HS classification), determine country of origin, and manage proper valuation of goods
Stay current on customs laws, regulatory changes, and compliance requirements for CBSA, CBP, and SAT (Mexico)
Dispatch local drivers for pickups and deliveries to meet production and customer schedules
Serve as the main point of contact for driver communication, route planning, and delivery coordination
Monitor vehicle usage and coordinate routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs to ensure fleet reliability and compliance with all applicable transportation regulations
Maintain records of driver logs, vehicle maintenance schedules, and ensure DOT/MTO compliance (or regional equivalent)
Identify and resolve day-to-day logistics issues promptly to avoid delays or disruptions in the supply chain
Coordinate with production, procurement, and sales teams to align shipping priorities
Track shipments and address any delays, customs hold, or transportation issues
Manage freight bills, review transportation invoices, and seek opportunities to reduce logistics costs
Maintain organized and accurate shipping/receiving records for audits and reporting
Qualifications:
3+ years of logistics experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment with cross-border exposure
Solid understanding of customs processes, trade compliance, and import/export documentation
Experience in driver dispatch, fleet coordination, and transportation compliance is a must
Strong organizational and communication skills; able to work independently and in a fast-paced environment
Familiarity with ERP and shipping platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Bilingual (English/Spanish or English/French) is an asset
