Logistics Coordinator
Summit Search Group are working with a leader in the bulk petroleum industry, focused on operational excellence. They are seeking an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join their team. This will be based out of their Lloydminster office.
Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring efficient delivery operations by coordinating operators, maximizing load capacity, managing client communication, ensuring safety and compliance, and working closely with back-office teams. This role focuses on optimizing fleet utilization and ensuring that deliveries are completed on time, safely, and in compliance with regulations.
Five Major Roles:
- Coordination of Operators:
- Manage daily delivery schedules, assigning tasks to operators to ensure timely and efficient service.
- Communicate effectively with operators to address any issues that arise during deliveries.
- Track operator performance, including hours worked, efficiency, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Maximizing Load Capacity:
- Optimize load planning to ensure that vehicles are fully utilized while meeting safety and regulatory standards.
- Analyze delivery routes and vehicle assignments to maximize efficiency and reduce costs.
- Monitor and report on key metrics, such as fuel consumption, delivery times, and vehicle utilization.
- Client Communication:
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring their delivery requests are understood and fulfilled.
- Provide regular updates to clients on delivery schedules and respond to any inquiries or issues.
- Maintain and update client profiles to ensure accurate delivery instructions and preferences.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all delivery operations comply with Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and company safety policies.
- Work with the Safety and Compliance team to address any safety incidents or concerns.
- Conduct regular safety audits and provide training updates to operators on safety protocols.
- Collaboration with Back Office:
- Coordinate with the back-office team to maintain accurate delivery records, including invoices, schedules, and client communications.
- Ensure that delivery and fleet management documentation is complete and up to date.
- Provide feedback and insights to improve operational processes and reporting efficiency.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics or fleet management.
- Familiarity with the trucking or fuel industries is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of regulatory safety standards (Hours of Service compliance).
