Core Purpose and Essence of the Position: The Logistics Coordinator, Operations Lead is responsible for the operation of a section within the Warehouse function. Supporting the Management Team with the day-to-day operation of the warehouse, responsible for a group of operators and ensuring an efficient warehouse operation in achieving business targets.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


Operations

  • Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which fulfills operational and customer demand and meets set targets.
  • Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change.
  • Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required.
  • Ensure a clean and tidy working environment to aid operational efficiency.

People Management

  • Communicate with staff on a regular basis to ensure awareness of priorities, targets and operational requirements.
  • Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to the Warehouse Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Actively committed to team development and growth.
  • Have a collaborative approach to working with others.

Safety

  • Ensure that the working area is clean and all equipment is stored in its proper place at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure that all lifting and maneuvering of products and materials is carried out in accordance with proper handling procedures.
  • Ensure staff comply with health and safety regulations and work safely to protect themselves and others in the warehouse environment.

Customer Service

  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, and transport companies when required in a timely manner.

PRIMARY INTERACTIONS:

  • The primary exchange will be working with supervisors, warehouse operators and Forklift.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES, SKILLS:


Leadership skills

  • Ability to lead, motivate and develop others.

Communication skills

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Computer Skills

  • Knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System).
  • Proficient in MS Word (Outlook and Excel).

Other

  • Excellent attention to detail skills.
  • Analytical and numerical skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

MINIMUM EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Diploma or degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or Business Administration.
  • 2-3 years of leadership experience in a warehousing environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position may require standing and walking for up to 80% of the time. Ability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 pounds. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
