Job Description

The Logistics Manager will oversee all aspects of logistics and supply chain management for the construction project. This role involves planning, coordinating, and managing the movement of materials, equipment, and resources, ensuring efficient resource allocation and maintaining a safe and organized work environment.

Responsibilities:

1. Supervise and support the logistics team, which includes Storage, Equipment, Security and Site Facilities, Electricity and Lightning, and the Bull Crew.
2. Develop and implement comprehensive logistics plans for the construction site, including site setup, material delivery, and waste management strategies.
3. Plan internal and external logistics routes, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles, machinery, and resources.
4. Optimize the allocation of resources to meet project requirements and deadlines.
5. Ensure all logistics operations comply with safety regulations and standards and implement safety protocols to prevent accidents and hazards.
6. Manage logistics budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
7. Coordinate with external vendors and suppliers for the procurement and tracking of materials, equipment, and services.
8. Address and resolve any logistics-related issues or challenges that arise during the project.
9. Prepare regular reports on logistics activities, including progress updates, budget status, and any issues or risks.
10. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
11. Manage and supervise the logistics team and promote a learning and growth culture.

Required Skills and Competencies:

1. Preferred bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Relevant experience may offset educational requirements.
2. Minimum 10 years of proven experience as a Logistics Manager or in a similar role, in large and complex construction projects.
3. Proven ability to manage multiple locations and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
5. Strong knowledge of logistics operations, resource management, and supply chain principles.
6. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
7. Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
8. Strong leadership and team management abilities.
9. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
10. A commitment to safety and quality, with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
11. Proven ability to manage multiple crews in a fast-paced working environment.

Work Conditions:

1. Must possess a valid Ontario Driving license G or G2.
2. Able to perform in a fast-paced environment, under different weather and environmental conditions.
3. May require working extended hours, including weekends and holidays, to meet project deadlines.
