The Opportunity
The City of St. John’s Waste and Recycling Division is currently seeking a highly motivated and environmentally conscious individual to lead our Litter Collection Crew team with the goal of cleaning up our city this summer.
We require an energetic, skilled individual to assist in the day-to-day operations, planning routes, creating crew schedules, completing daily/weekly administrative tasks, and assisting the litter crew in litter collection.

This position is classified as a safety sensitive position. The City of St. John’s has a comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Policy to ensure fitness for work and the completion of a satisfactory alcohol and drug test is a mandatory pre-employment requirement.
While some time is spent in the office, this position also requires driving throughout the City and working with the litter crew on site in all types of weather conditions.
This position requires physical stamina as the incumbent is required to perform repetitive tasks including twisting, bending, squatting, and lifting in order to complete the duties.
Rate of pay effective April 1, 2025.
