Job description

Minimum Education Requirement: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate

Experience Requirement: 1 year to less than 2 years

Work Setting: Restaurant

Tasks:

  1. Plan menus and estimate food requirements for their realization
  2. Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods
  3. Train staff in preparation, cooking and handling of food
  4. Order supplies and equipment
  5. Supervise kitchen staff and helpers
  6. Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment
  7. Manage kitchen operations

Support for Newcomers and Refugees:

  1. Supports newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition

Support for Youths:

  1. Provides awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth
  2. Develops and maintains relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses and organizations

Support for Mature Workers:

  1. Provides staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers

Support for Visible Minorities:

  1. Provides diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities
