Position Summary:
The Department of English & Creative Writing in the Faculty of Arts at the University of Regina invites applications for a two-year term position (at the rank of Assistant Professor) in Composition and Creative Writing. Anticipated date of commencement is 1 July 2025; end date of the term is 30 June 2027.
The Department is committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching by faculty who are actively engaged in their respective research and writing areas. Duties include research (including research creation), teaching, and administrative service. Teaching duties will include teaching courses at the first year and second-year level. There may be potential to teach an upper-level course in the candidate’s area of specialization. As a member of our department, the successful candidate will be expected to participate in department-level service.
Required credentials are a completed PhD in English and Creative Writing, or a PhD in a closely related field with demonstrated expertise in creative writing at the graduate level. A demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence is also required.
Candidates must demonstrate expertise and teaching readiness in composition and creative writing. Candidates must have teaching experience in the first-year composition classroom and in the creative writing classroom. The ability to teach Indigenous literature will be considered an asset.
