Job Description
Description: Lifting Supervisor oversees lifting activities on site, preparing the works for lifting activities (like tower cranes, mobile cranes, boom trucks, forklifts, gantry cranes etc.) and providing a permanent presence. The Lifting Supervisor is in charge of the lifting team and supervises all lifting activities on site by permanently assessing and guiding the rigging team.
Health & Safety: Ensures all equipment and material are in good condition and fit to operate at any time, and all safety devices are always functional, calibrated and certification is up to date. The Lifting Supervisor ensures all personnel are following the best practices in terms of rigging techniques, maintaining a high standard of safety at all times. Responsible for verifying all documentation is available and approved during lifting activities to support production teams across all sites. Ensure all equipment and lifting devices/apparatus are always in compliance with Canadian Standards in Ontario.
Ensure daily pre-starts are performed on site and recorded in the server. Obtain daily reports from site team, staff, and workers regarding presence, hours worked, and tasks performed each day. Collect hourly meters/km of all equipment on site each day (Mobile Cranes, heavy equipment, etc.), and send info to the Plant Engineer. Ensure lifting devices and lifting equipment are checked daily and reported back to the Lifting Manager.
