The LPN - Occupational Health reports to the local Operations Manager and works in coordination with the team to complete occupational medical assessments and associated testing as well as periodic and random testing for corporate clients. The Occupational Health Nurse is accountable to provide medical services to Medicentres’ clients in accordance with company policies and procedures.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Occupational Health:
Accurate completion of occupational medical assessments
Provision of immunizations and travel vaccinations
Completion of blood draws, as required by medicals
Provides Drug and Alcohol testing, Audiometric testing, Hearing Fit Testing, PFT, and Visual acuity testing as well as nursing medicals
Travel to complete on-site services during work hours and after hours as required
Administrative:
Managing of scheduling software, including daily review, prep, and ongoing management throughout the day of the appointment schedule
Preparation, completion, and QA of medical / D&A paperwork
Maintaining and ensuring the most current forms are being utilized.
Ensuring any protocol suggestions are brought to Management in a timely manner.
Scheduling follow up appointments as needed by checking in with the employee/donor
Collect payment from employee / donor as required
Transfer client information via Titanfile / fax depending on TPA requirements
Calls Medicentres Referrals /TPAs to verify testing requirements when needed
Assist employees with lab requisitions
Keep track of equipment calibration dates and booking to ensure compliance
Manage inventory control for Occupational Health in the clinic.
Provide clinic Occupational Health statistics/reports when requested.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Licensed by the provincial governing body to practice nursing in the applicable province of work (LPN)
Drug and Alcohol Certification, Audiometric Technician Certification, and Spirometry Technician Certification required. Candidates will be expected to receive this training if not already certified.
Understanding of all devices used and daily calibrations of Audiometric and PFT devices, BA device when required
Phlebotomy training is considered an asset
Proficiency in the knowledge and skills specific to the position of Occupational Health Nurse.
Comfortable with written, verbal, and digital (MS Teams, Email, etc.) communication
Familiar with AB Occupational Health regulations and how to apply these to Medical assessments as well as employee testing
Ability to adapt and thrive in an atmosphere of changing priorities and circumstances
Is able to examine facts, gather relevant data, draw logical conclusions and make decisions regarding Fitness for Work
Familiar with Occupational Health scheduling software is considered an asset.
Ability to intervene effectively in conflict situations, focusing on common objectives and maintaining productive relationships by understanding the underlying interests of others
Ability to provide exceptional customer service in all situations.
Valid drivers license and vehicle to travel to company sites as needed
