Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
The successful applicant may be eligible for an annual full-time incentive of up to $2,000 each year until 2025 as per MOU #31 of the current MNU collective agreement.
Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) provides professional nursing services for patients, including those with complex and unpredictable health needs. These services include independent nursing services, administration of prescribed medical treatments, a leadership role within the health care team, and facilitating coordination of patient care.
The LPN works to full scope of practice, engages in ongoing education and maintains competency with Professional Standards of Practice, College of Licensed Practical Nurse of Manitoba Code of Ethics, Competency Profile for Licensed Practical Nurses in Manitoba and the Regulated Health Professions Act.
The LPN demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the facility/program.
*Shared Health and the WRHA Surgery Program offer basic operating room education/orientation through the Association of Perioperative Registered Nurses (AORN) Periop 101 Didactic course to successful applicants with no previous perioperative experience. This is an online, evidence-based, accredited course for new operating room nurses to learn the basic, core principles of practice. The successful candidate may be required to purchase the required textbook and reading material for this orientation course. Successful completion of the course is a requirement within the new hire probation period. (This can be up to three months for a full-time new employee).
