Job description

We're a rapidly growing sports medicine clinic that helps patients to return to peak performance and rise to new levels. We're looking for friendly, patient-centric individuals to join our team in the new role of Injection Assistant.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Nurse (LPN or RN)
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years related experience in a medical clinic or health care setting an asset
  • Experience in customer service and/or medical sales is an asset
  • Experience with Telus Collaborative Health Record (CHR) is an asset

Knowledge Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal skills; analytical, decision and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform venipuncture, assist Medical Doctors (MDs) with ultrasound guided procedures
  • Effective communication skills both verbal and written
  • Planning, organizing, and attention to detail
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Ability to work efficiently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment

Responsibilities:

The Injection Assistant (IA) is the gateway to delivering on our brand definition to offer timely assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and rehabilitation of sports injuries and bone and joint problems. Embodying the virtues of Humble, Hungry, and Smart (HHS), the IA coordinates injection therapy services and supplies and creates, maintains, and transfers knowledge within the clinic of the IPAC program. The IA ensures that every patient experience is welcoming, assuring, informative, and fun while empowering fellow staff to create a safe environment for all.

Your day will consist of the following:

  • Work approach consistent with Group23 mission, vision, and brand promise
  • Work in a multi-disciplinary team environment making use of all the resources available to them to ensure optimization of patient care and outcomes
  • Make exceptional patient experiences a priority in their care – we want every patient to leave clinic saying “wow!”
  • Be comfortable drawing up and preparing all injection materials according to each physician’s preference
  • Act as assistant during ultrasound guided injections
  • Perform blood draws and use equipment necessary for preparation of platelet rich plasma (PRP) injections
