Wetaskiwin has an exciting opportunity for an LPN in their Emergency/Outpatients Department! Wetaskiwin Emergency Department (ED) is a 22 bed unit with specialty clinics including Urology, Cardiology and Surgical. As an LPN in our ED and member of our nursing care team, your Emergency Department experience will be valuable in our busy department. You will also demonstrate genuine interest and respect for our patients and utilize your knowledge, skills, and abilities to competently provide direct patient and family centered care. You may also be required to share your skills and experience on the acute care units.

Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

As required.

Preferred Qualifications:
One Year experience as an LPN in Emergency Department. CTAS - Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale certification in the last 2 years. ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Support. Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training Course.
