Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta (CLPNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
Additional Required Qualifications:
We require a self-directed individual with a positive attitude, and demonstrated excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, evidenced by performance appraisals, work experience and reference checks. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of a collaborative care health care team on a 36-bed renal medicine, diabetes and general medicine unit working to full scope of practice with critical thinking, problem solving and decision-making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, demonstrated skill level and AHS policies and procedures. Applicants must also be up to full scope of practice. Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in acute care within the last three years essential, immediate past experience on medical units preferred. Preference will be given for experience providing care and teaching to renal and diabetic patients and to those who have PD experience.
