Position: Procurement Specialist - Nutritional and Functional Ingredients
Workplace Flexibility: We require a presence minimum of 2 days/week in office.

We are currently looking for a Procurement Specialist for our Nutritional and Functional Ingredients Group. The person will be responsible for placing replenishment orders with existing suppliers to ensure business continuity and enhanced customer experience, while minimizing inventory carrying costs and risk. We are looking for a candidate who can multi-task and is very detail oriented. This person will work closely with domestic and foreign suppliers to ensure timely delivery of orders and resolve issues that may arise during the ordering and delivering process.
The candidate must be able to work in an advanced digital technology work environment. We are looking for someone with strong experience in inventory analysis and control, procurement, and adept at building relationships with suppliers.
What would be your main responsibilities as a Procurement Specialist?
- Manage the end-to-end procurement process, including issuing purchase orders for food ingredients products, tracking deliveries, forecasting and inventory management.
- Proactively implementing measures to minimize aging inventory.
- Foster strong and seamless communication between our valued commercial team and dedicated Product Managers, ensuring the meticulous maintenance of our pricing list.
- Efficiently managing the replenishment process by promptly placing orders with our trusted suppliers.
- Maintain precise inventory control and consistently monitor stock levels to ensure optimal management of our product availability.
- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Monitoring supplier performance and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Diligently reconcile complex supplier invoices on a monthly basis, ensuring accuracy and clarity in our financial transactions.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Maintaining accurate procurement records and quality documentation, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
- In collaboration with the Product Managers, keeping up-to-date with industry trends, market conditions, sales trends and best practices in procurement.
- Reviewing and taking action on weekly profit/loss reports; collaborate on cost-saving initiatives and optimizing procurement processes to improve efficiency and reduce expenses.
- Run and analyze various reports generated by different systems, allowing us to derive valuable insights and make informed decisions based on the data at hand.
- Handle data entry across multiple platforms, including Oracle/JD Edwards, Excel, Salesforce, and more, ensuring accurate and seamless information management.
- Manage and support a variety of projects.
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- University degree or post-secondary education in Business/Commerce or Science.
- Minimum 3 years experience working in procurement, replenishment, inventory control.
- Experience in a food ingredients or food manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Advanced computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Salesforce) and experience working with SAP or JD Edwards.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate, understand requirements and influence decisions.
- Must be detail oriented and have keen eye for detail, minimizing the risk of errors or oversights that could impact the procurement process.

Compensation Information: The annual base pay range for this position is reasonably expected to be $51,000 to $76,000. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience.
