Our client, Yoplait Liberté Canada («Yoplait»), is part of the Sodiaal Group, a leading French dairy cooperative, which brings together more than 17,000 farmers. Its iconic brands (Yop, Tubes, Source, Méditerranée and Minigo) have successfully established a strong presence among Canadian consumers.

To better support its Canadian operations, Yoplait is looking to hire its first in-house lawyer in Canada.

Reporting locally to the VP of Finance at Yoplait Liberté Canada, with a “functional line” to the Legal and Regulatory Department of Sodiaal in Paris, you will be responsible for all operational legal matters in Canada. You will provide daily legal advice to both management and business teams on commercial law and risk management. Your role will include negotiating and drafting a variety of commercial agreements, including supplier, service, customer, distribution, and IT contracts. Additionally, you will advise the company on legal matters related to marketing and advertising law, employment law (in a non-unionized environment), competition law, and more. You will ensure that the company’s practices comply with applicable laws and regulations, implement legal procedures and templates, and provide internal training as needed. When required, you will also act as the primary contact for external lawyers in dispute management.

If you are known for your practical and business-oriented mindset, we would love to talk to you! To qualify, you must have at least 8 years of relevant experience in business law, be a member of the Quebec Bar, and be bilingual.
