PROFILE

We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented individual to join the Business Law department as a Legal Administrative Assistant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Organize and expedite the flow of work through the law clerks and professionals' practice, initiating any follow-up action as appropriate.
  2. All aspects of file maintenance, including, opening and closing files, preparing of sub-files, filing of emails, correspondence, etc., and full responsibility for the organization, filing reports and locating of manual files.
  3. Use initiative and good judgement to relieve the professional and clerk of administrative detail with respect to accounting, docketing, billing, etc.
  4. Assist the professional with administrative matters including scheduling meetings.
  5. Liaise between the legal professional, clerk and various internal and external individuals, groups and clients at all levels.
  6. Preparation and transcription of legal documents and correspondence.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Administrative Assistant or Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma coupled with a minimum of five years’ experience.
  2. Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  4. Ability to work in a team environment with a professional demeanour.
  5. Strong written, oral and verbal communication skills.
  6. Effective organizational, problem-solving and administrative skills.
  7. Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload within a fast-paced environment.
