We are seeking a dedicated full-time Learning Assistant to support students enrolled in the Business Administrative Assistant and Medical Office Assistant programs. This role focuses on providing tutoring, academic support, and study strategies to help students succeed in their coursework and develop essential skills for their future careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to students in business administration and medical office assistant courses.
  • Assist students in understanding course material, assignments, and exam preparation.
  • Offer guidance on effective study strategies, time management, and organizational skills.
  • Support students in developing their technical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as HealthQuest.
  • Help students navigate online learning platforms such as Moodle and Teams.
  • Encourage active participation in coursework and discussions.
  • Identify and address individual learning needs by adapting support strategies accordingly.
  • Provide mentorship and motivation to enhance student confidence and professionalism.
  • Collaborate with faculty members to identify areas where students need additional support.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and support provided.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in Business Administration, Medical Office Assistant, Education, or a related field.
  • Experience in business administration, medical office administration, or a clinical setting is an asset.
  • Previous tutoring, teaching, or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms such as Moodle and Teams.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems like HealthQuest is an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a student-focused approach.
