Responsibilities

About the role:

GM Financial is targeting significant growth as it transforms the Protection/Insurance Products into a full captive platform. Our team is responsible for bringing the branded General Motors F&I products to market and we work hands-on with our dealer partners to improve performance in their F&I department. As the E-Learning Developer and LMS Administrator, you will be responsible for working with the larger learning and development team to design, support, and maintain content for our products, systems, and sales enablement. You will create program evaluation and course maintenance for internal and external training pieces. The Learning Consultant II will be pivotal in enhancing our educational offerings by creating engaging learning experiences and overseeing the administration of internal GM Protection and external GM Protection enrolled Dealership facing Learning Management Systems.

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) and stakeholders to assess learning needs and design comprehensive training programs aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Develop and deliver engaging virtual and web-based training, workshops, and courses to employees at different levels.
  • Apply adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies to ensure effective knowledge transfer, engagement, and skill acquisition.
  • Incorporate multimedia elements, simulations, case studies, and other interactive elements to enhance learner engagement and promote practical application of skills.
  • Conduct thorough needs assessments, evaluate the effectiveness of training programs, and gather feedback through various assessment tools, surveys, and evaluation methods.
  • Continuously enhance and update training materials and resources based on learner feedback, industry best practices, and ongoing changes to our growing product suite.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including dealers, marketing, operations, and IT, to ensure seamless integration of training initiatives.
  • Stay current with advancements in learning technologies, instructional design strategies, and industry best practices, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance the learning experience.
  • Utilize e-learning authoring tools, such as Articulate Storyline, Rise 360, and HourOne Labs, or similar tools, to create interactive and visually appealing e-learning modules and courses.
  • Manage daily operations of the Learning Management System (LMS), ensuring a seamless user experience for learners and instructors – SuccessFactors and Oracle Learning a plus.

Qualifications

What makes you a dream candidate?

  • Knowledge of dealership operations and Finance & Insurance preferred.
  • Experience with on-demand, just-in-time delivery is required.
  • Knowledge of instructional design principles.
  • High-level proficiency in design support systems with an emphasis on Adobe Captivate, Canva, MurfAI, HourOne Labs.
  • Must be able to problem solve quickly as issues arise as our content is subject to rapid changes both program-wide and regulatory-based.
  • Project management competency, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel as required to deliver training programs and support business needs.

Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience developing training content in multiple modalities (E-learning, interactive learning sessions, live webinar design) required.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with Learning Management Systems and system administration (SuccessFactors and Oracle Learning preferred) required.
  • 1-2 years retail automotive experience in the business office promotion and selling protections products, ideally utilizing Menu Selling is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or related field required.
