Job Overview

Position Overview: The Learning & Development Generalist at Marvin will primarily focus on new hire onboarding, especially within production. This role is crucial in ensuring new employees are effectively integrated and continuously supported. When not onboarding, the L&D Generalist will coordinate and assist with various training and development activities, including reporting, auditing, facilitation, and content creation using tools like Learn at Marvin, Canva, Rise, and Vyond. This role will work with departments to establish training goals for 30/60/90 days and up to 6 months of employment. Additionally, this role will support product group production trainers with their on-the-job and cross-training programs.

  • New Hire Onboarding: Train new employees during onboarding, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
  • Teamwork & Culture: Promote great teamwork and a positive attitude, fostering a thriving, fast-paced work environment, and reducing turnover.
  • Training Programs: Research, plan, organize, and conduct training programs focused on Safety, Quality, and Production.
  • Content Development: Write, review, evaluate, and modify training materials and programs, recommending changes as needed.
  • Program Preparation: Assist in preparing various training programs and administering qualifications for prospective attendees.
  • Training Aids: Prepare and distribute instructional materials, handouts, evaluation forms, and visual aids.
  • Feedback Collection: Contact attendees and department representatives for feedback on training programs.
  • Training Calendar: Manage the training calendar for Grafton, highlighting the schedule for various training programs and ensuring compliance training deadlines are available to affected parties according to regulatory requirements.
  • Documentation: Continuously assess and update team documents to ensure they are current; maintain training documentation using LMS or other compliance software.
  • Reporting: Handle reports for new production employee skill pathing certifications and overall progress with each product group.
  • Surveying: Survey employees and consolidate data to report feedback to Product Groups, Leaders, and Human Resources.
  • LMS Administration: Assist with Grafton’s Learn at Marvin (LMS) administration.

You're a good fit if you have (or if you can)

  • Four to six years of related teaching or training experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact with employees, trainers from other companies, professional training group members, and consultants.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Bilingual language skills preferred.
