About Us

Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world. The Role

In this role, you will:

  • Coordinate and lead a subset of members of the project procurement team, providing guidance, mentorship, setting expectations, and managing performance.
  • Manage your team's workload and resources to meet project objectives, supporting the development of contracts within your teams for timely execution and delivery of goods and services for sustaining capital projects.
  • Be responsible for, and support your team in, the development of contracts for timely execution and delivery of goods and services for all Canadian operations and corporate functions.
  • Work closely with capital project teams, contracts administrators, and site stakeholder teams to plan and execute procurement and contracting activities.
  • Guide and advise your team members, as well as stakeholders, on procurement best practices and solutions to achieve project deliverables.
  • Collaborate with project teams to develop sourcing and contracting strategies for all goods and services needed to deliver assigned projects.
  • Develop and initiate requests for information, quotations, and proposals, evaluating bids, completing award recommendations, contract conformance, and execution in compliance with Cameco’s policies, standards, and codes.
  • Consult with internal legal counsel to negotiate terms and conditions and advise stakeholders.
  • Negotiate and resolve disputes with vendors and contractors.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or engineering.
  • A minimum of seven years of experience, specifically in supply chain management.
  • Extensive experience in negotiating, developing, and executing large contracts for consulting services, construction, and complex equipment.
  • Procurement experience supporting capital projects, applicable bidding experience in the Canadian Market, and excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered.

Recommended:

  • Preference for SCMP and APICS certification.
  • Previous experience with SAP or Similar ERP System.
