Position: Housekeeper

As the Housekeeper, you are responsible for assisting with providing a welcoming environment for our residents, employees, and visitors by ensuring our community is clean and cared for.

Responsibilities:

1. Professionally clean and maintain resident rooms and common areas, including bathroom facilities.
2. Sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and washing all surfaces.
3. Move furniture as needed.
4. Collect, wash, and iron laundry, returning resident laundry.
5. Maintain a tidy linen storage area.
6. Replenish consumable items such as soaps and paper products.
7. Spot clean walls and furniture, including windows and sills.
8. Collect and remove trash and debris.
9. Demonstrate awareness of accident and injury prevention through safe work practices and procedures, including keeping housekeeping areas tidy.
10. Identify safety concerns through daily walk-throughs and staff/resident updates.
11. Identify and report any damages to the maintenance team.
12. Ability to be decisive when dealing with difficult and/or crisis situations.
13. Maintain cleaning supply stock.
14. Other duties as assigned to support operational requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

1. Minimum one (1) year of residential/commercial cleaning is required.
2. Experience in an aging adults setting is an asset.
3. Completion of High School Diploma is an asset.
4. Completion of CPR and First Aid is an asset.
5. Superior organizational skills.
6. Exceptional interpersonal skills with peers, residents, visitors, and operational partners.
7. Superior oral and written communication skills.
8. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and problem-solve.

Conditions of Employment:

1. Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, squat, kneel, and lift over 20 pounds.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Clear Police Information Check.
4. Clear Vulnerable Sector Check.
