Lead Doctor of Veterinary Medicine - Eglinton Founding Team

BE PART OF OUR FOUNDING TEAM!

You will be Juno’s first leaders in a new location at 333 Eglinton Ave. and you will help drive brand awareness, work with Talent Acquisition to build a new clinic recruitment strategy and own training and on-boarding for a brand new team. You will partner with the Practice Manager to bring Juno to life and liaise closely with our Clinic Support Centre to open a brand new clinic. We are looking for experienced and entrepreneurial leaders who are ready for a new challenge and can help drive the Juno brand and culture leading up to opening.

We are hiring a Lead Doctor of Veterinary Medicine to help lead medical operations and build excellence across the clinic’s care team. This role will be responsible for ensuring doctor growth and for adhering to gold standards of care for our pet patients. Reporting into the Head of Veterinary Medicine, the leader in this role will have expertise in developing exceptional veterinary teams and implementing processes with efficiency, as well as excellent team building and communication skills while thriving in a cross-functional environment.

What you'll do:

  • Hold ultimate responsibility for doctor growth and development within the clinic, medical excellence, positive team sentiment, and member feedback performance for the clinic
  • In partnership with the Practice Manager, you will coach, develop, and inspire clinic leaders and their teams through active listening and being of service to the team
  • Be relentless in your drive and focus to ensure the clinic is a fantastic place to be a veterinary professional
  • Work closely with the Head of Veterinary Medicine and other Lead DVMs to collaborate and consolidate feedback in order to implement change
  • Collaborate with the Practice Manager to drive the clinic’s overall performance as it relates to medical quality, member experience, and employee engagement while building and contributing to an environment of continuous learning and development for the full team
  • Collaborate with the RVT team and Clinic Operations team to ensure medical excellence at all levels, consistently serving as a key resource and ‘advisor’
  • Partner with the Practice Manager to implement, roll-out, and ensure compliance with gold standards of medical practice and patient care within the clinic
  • Be a leader in implementation of the Juno Brand Tenets to ensure the team has maximum job love and supports one another to be better
  • Lead by example and participate in initiatives that support the health and wellness of the clinic team by making choices that support the overall job love of the team helping to make the veterinary profession at Juno sustainable and inspirational
  • Work cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal partners in an effort to support our clinic teams and execute on operational goals
  • Aid in conflict resolution across the clinic leaders and work with People Operations as needed to build future clinic leadership within the doctor team
  • A desire to mentor new hires and new grads

You have:

  • A DVM/VMD degree and the ability to practice veterinary medicine in Ontario
  • 4+ years experience in general medicine and surgery
  • Previous leadership experience
  • A passion for Juno’s mission to provide an exceptional experience for both pets and our care team
  • The ability to prioritize, stay organized and be a source of leadership and mentorship to the doctors in clinic
  • A collaborative mindset and an openness to learn and grow
  • The desire to elevate others and develop the team of in-clinic doctors

The role of Lead DVM at Juno may require evening and weekend work, managing direct reports as well as working closely with the team Leads working with members who may be experiencing emotional distress and/or frustration, as well as managing challenging members and patients. This position will be based in our clinic with occasional travel required locally for training and cross functional meetings with our Clinic Support Centre team.
