Who you are:

Geotab is seeking a Lead Data Scientist, Altitude who will utilize strong problem-solving skills with statistical analysis in order to align data products with Geotab’s organizational goals.

What you'll do:

1. Explore and examine data from multiple sources in order to design and construct new data modeling processes using prototypes, algorithms, predictive models, and custom analyses.
2. Develop and refine inference and predictive models.
3. Provide expert project leadership as a subject matter expert and give guidance to team members.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and drive data products to production.
5. Create algorithms and models required to solve complex business problems.
6. Own the design, development, monitoring, and maintenance of scalable models.
7. Test the performance of models/data products and make recommendations for improving Geotab’s product suite.
8. Conduct experiments to identify causality for data anomalies.
9. Stay up to date on the latest research in data science and propose innovative ideas and techniques.
10. Mentor multiple Data Scientists and work through others to lift the skills and expertise of those around.
11. Own responsibility for the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, and dashboards.
12. Drive innovation and continuous improvement in data science methodologies and practices within the organization.

What you'll bring to the role

1. 10-12 years of Data Science or related experience.
2. Thorough knowledge of relevant programming languages (primarily Python, SQL), object-oriented programming principles, Big Data tools and Data Mining/Warehousing Programs.
3. Experience with model experimentation, deployment, and monitoring in large-scale cloud-based production systems.
4. Proficient in building models using common Python libraries and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and scikit-learn.
5. Experience with various supervised and unsupervised machine learning methodologies.
6. Diploma/Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science or a related field.
