Lead Data Engineer (Backfill)

Insight Global is on the lookout for a seasoned Lead Platform Engineer to join the data organization of one of Canada's largest insurance companies. As a Platform Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and maintain the infrastructure necessary for efficient and reliable software deployment. Your role involves working closely with cloud, networking, and security experts to automate infrastructure deployment and enhance system performance.

Minimum Requirements

1. 5+ years of experience as Lead Platform Engineer, with a focus on the Azure data stack
2. Hands-on experience with deploying Azure PaaS and Databricks in Terraform (Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Synapse, Event Hub, APIM, Azure Key Vault, Azure SQL)
3. Hands-on experience with creating Terraform modules from scratch, and following them through the lifecycle (creation, testing, quality check, etc.)
4. Experience with Azure infrastructure such as cloud security and networking and experience in implementing best practices

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

1. Experience in building a 360 view of a customer
2. Good to have knowledge/experience with Microsoft Fabric (SaaS) and Gen AI-related technology including Azure ML, Azure OpenAI
3. Experience with Purview
4. Financial or insurance industry experience
