About this team
The Lead Architect role is within the Digital Identity Engineering team (Authentication, Profile, and Security), a part of the Global Digital Engineering Organization. We are a fast-moving team tasked with the responsibility to give our guests the ability to securely identify themselves, and present to them curated experiences relevant to their preferences and interests. We have both front-end and back-end teams. Authentication, Profile Management, Access Management, and the Experiences built on these and derived secondary services are core business functions we already support today.
lululemon Identity Engineering is dedicated to building secure, reliable, and performant products for our guests and partners. We embrace the philosophies of Agile, DevOps, and SRE to accelerate our development process and provide the most enjoyable, inclusive, and supportive work environment possible. We believe our journey is more fun when it is collaborative, as we focus on the future instead of the past. As our team’s Lead Architect, you will function as the architectural leader for the platforms and experiences our team delivers. You are also part of a global team supported by our business and architecture partners across the total enterprise, setting an example for our entire engineering organization to help us collaboratively develop and deliver industry leading technology solutions that drive lululemon’s business goals.
A day in the life
As a Lead Architect you are responsible for leading solution design impacting multiple teams' backlogs. Specifically, you are accountable for the architecture of the Digital Identity space, including authentication services, profile management, and our guest-facing curated experiences built to more deeply engage and connect with those guests who have chosen to become members. This includes guest data security, fraud detection and mitigation, feature development, and new business program initiatives catering to our exclusive members.
You will work with other architects and functional leaders to ensure that all designs are clear and complete for successful execution. From solving large complex design problems to leading engineers and architects through delivery & implementation, you will act as a key technical leader, driving alignment and clarity across multiple stakeholder groups. You will spend a good amount of time working closely with our Product and Business partners, contributing from the beginnings of the ideation process, to ensure that the Identity team and Technology in general is fully represented in the evolution of feature and program creation. You will also partner with Senior Leadership and Principal Architects to lead a Community of Practice aimed at increasing Architect and Engineer training and development for your technology stack. Lead Architects work to not only elevate our technology community through best practices, but also to guide our business partners in realizing their product vision.
