Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Margin Accounting, will be responsible for the accounting and payments of Customer Rebates as well as budgeting, forecasting, variance tracking and analysis of the Selling Margin.
Responsibilities
- Executes financial accounting activities and payments to customers ($400M)
- Responsible for the accounting of customer rebates, and related balance sheet reconciliations
- Ensures that customer rebate accounting is accurately maintained according to the contracts
- Follows corporate policies specific to customer rebates and ensures controls are in place
- Partners with the Pharma Distribution Sales team and resolves customer rebates issues
- Responsible for all planning activities related to the Selling Margin components of Pharma Distribution business unit ($400M)
- Manages and ensures data accuracy of reporting systems for Selling Margin components
- Directs and manages accurate reporting, variance tracking and financial analysis of Selling Margin
- Act as primary liaison with Pricing team to coordinate/manage customer agreement negotiations
- Implement process re-design and improvements within the team’s activities
- Addresses internal, external and Sarbanes-Oxley audit concerns and implements corrective measures
- Plans the activities of his/her staff; assesses results and takes appropriate measures to improve performance
- Determines the human resources required to carry out work; delegates responsibilities and appropriate authority to his/her staff; recommends structural changes when necessary
- Directs activities of staff and coordinates with other groups and departments
- Trains employees; evaluates their performance; encourages and assists with their development
- Approves requisitions, expense reports and other financial transactions within his/her authority
- Ensures that company policies are always respected and enforced
- Maintains appropriate communications with all levels of the organization
Position Requirements
- Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in Finance or Accounting. CPA designation required. An MBA with a Finance background will also be considered
- Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in a similar role
- Demonstrates expertise in business analysis
- Advanced knowledge of SAP
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (especially Excel and PowerPoint)
- Ability to challenge the status quo and make recommendations for improvements
- Capable of solving problems, making the right decisions and using sound judgement to escalate issues with recommendations when necessary
- Strong people leader with ability to influence and build and/or develop a strong financial team
- Strong team player with strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Strong analytical thinker, organized and autonomous
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Bilingual (French/English)
Our Base Pay Range for this position
$94,000 - $156,600
