Job Overview:
Burbank is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Labourer to support our Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) Locator and Driller teams on telecom installation projects in Alberta. Responsibilities:
As a Labourer supporting HDD operations, you will assist with tasks to ensure the smooth execution of projects. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Assisting the HDD Locator and Driller during telecom installation projects.
- Preparing work sites by digging, clearing, and maintaining clean and safe work areas.
- Handling materials, tools, and equipment required for the installation of Telecom Services.
- Supporting the setup and maintenance of drill equipment.
- Participating in site safety meetings, pre-job orientations, and adhering to safety protocols.
- Assisting with equipment maintenance and ensuring all tools are in good working condition.
- Performing physical tasks such as lifting (up to 50lbs), climbing, walking, and balancing.
- Supporting other general labour tasks as required to complete projects efficiently.
Qualifications:
Required Skills and Attributes:
- Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a physically demanding environment.
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Safety-conscious attitude and willingness to follow all health and safety protocols.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues.
- Willingness to learn and develop skills in HDD and telecom operations.
Assets (Not Required but Preferred):
- Knowledge of underground utilities and basic drilling operations.
- Familiarity with telecom or fibre installation processes.
- Experience with HDD equipment.
Certificates:
- CSTS 2020 training certification (required)
- WHIMIS (required).
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically fit and capable of lifting 50lbs or more.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environments and meet tight deadlines.
- Comfortable performing repetitive tasks and working in varied soil and topographical conditions.
Additional Requirements:
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract.
- Work overtime, weekends, out of town, out of province as required
