Laboratory Technician

The School of Biological Sciences technical team is looking to recruit a team player to assist with the support of Research Laboratory infrastructure, basic equipment, and facilities. The post is available for 1 year, with a possibility of an extension up to three years. Laboratory experience or similar work is an advantage, but it is essential you have an appreciation of hazards in the workplace and can participate in the promotion of a positive health & safety culture.

The technical team is busy all year but especially during semesters, and you are discouraged from taking annual leave during this time.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support the Research Laboratory infrastructure and equipment.
2. Participate in promoting a positive health & safety culture.
3. Work collaboratively with the Biological Sciences technical team.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Laboratory experience or similar work is an advantage.
2. Appreciation of workplace hazards.
3. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
