Oversees the operation and maintenance of teaching laboratories. Provides advice on laboratory setup, equipment acquisition, laboratory operation and monitoring, and maintenance. Develops and implements operating procedures and standards to ensure laboratory safety and overall organization and cleanliness. Controls equipment and chemical inventory. Recommends purchase, locates, and orders equipment and supplies.
Work is performed in a variety of settings including office, laboratory, and outdoor. May be exposed to a variety of temperatures, noise, moving parts, or chemicals. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds. Work requires occasional overnight travel. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment will be moderate to loud.
