Position Information

Position Title: Laboratory Facilitator - Mathematics

Posting Number: 02432SA

Location: New Westminster and Coquitlam campuses

Salary Range: $31.14 per hour (with wage increments to a max of $34.96 per hour). Salary and wage increments are in accordance with the Collective Agreement.

Position Type: Support Staff - Temporary

Employment Type: Part-Time

Start Date: 01/06/2024

End Date: 04/30/2024

Work Arrangements: This temporary part-time (15 hours per week) position is available starting January 6, 2025 to April 30, 2025. Regular hours of work are between the hours of 8:30am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday. Shift days and times may change depending on the Department’s need. Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provides instructional support and assistance to students and faculty to facilitate learning outcomes in Mathematics.
  2. Coordinates Math Lab activities to meet the requirements of course objectives.
  3. Provides tutorial instruction related to college mathematics courses.
  4. Evaluates student work and performance in relation to tutorial requirements.
  5. Performs other duties as assigned.

To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need:

  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science in Mathematics or equivalent degree from a recognized post-secondary educational institution. Some Graduate level study in Mathematics or Education is preferred.
  • At least 4 months of experience teaching college-level mathematics to groups of students.
  • Working knowledge of current mathematics software and graphing technology.
  • Good working knowledge of the English language (written and verbal).
  • A demonstrated ability to maintain current knowledge in the field of post-secondary Mathematics education.
