AtkinsRéalis Canada Inc. is seeking a Laboratory Engineering Technician Co-op Student to join the Materials Laboratory Team in our Vaughan, Ontario location.

Our Co-op Student Program is designed for university and college students pursuing a degree in a Civil, Materials, or Geotechnical field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

Location – Vaughan, ON

Your role within the team:

• Conducting materials testing in accordance with CSA (Canadian Standards Association), OPSS (Ontario Provincial Standards), AASHTO (The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials), and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) on various materials such as asphalt, soil, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt emulsions.
• Assisting in preparation and monitoring of highly advanced asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soil testing programs.
• Documentation of laboratory activities and subsequent test results.
• Field sampling of asphalt and aggregates.
• Possibility of travel to various work sites across Ontario to assist with field sampling.
• General activities related to the daily functioning of the laboratory facility.
• Enthusiastic participation in health and safety programs.

Minimum Requirements:

• No Experience Requirement.
• University or College junior or senior working towards completing a civil, materials, or geotechnical technician/engineering degree from a Canada/Ontario accredited program by the start of the internship.
• Must have basic technical and mathematics skills.
• Professional Registrations: University or College Student.
