Working along with other Health Care Professionals, the Laboratory Assistant I will provide Laboratory support to the Sturgeon Community Hospital. The primary responsibilities include phlebotomy for adults, children, and infants using both macro and micro techniques while providing patient-centered care, performing urinalysis, specimen entry, specimen processing and transport, troubleshooting problem specimens, and reception duties.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high-quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient, and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching, and testing of specimens, performing procedures, and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Recent experience with EPIC Beaker Laboratory Information System and recent experience with phlebotomy is required.
Recent experience with urinalysis is preferred. Recent experience with data entry, specimen processing, and troubleshooting is preferred. Recent experience using Rover is preferred.
