Laboratory Assistant I

As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

Additional Required Qualifications:

• Recent phlebotomy and ECG experience within the last 2 years.
• Ability to lift to 10lbs on a frequent basis.
• Ability to work independently within a team environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on client services and public relations.
• Ability to perform repetitive duties efficiently and accurately.
• Ability to recognize and assist patients in distress.
• Flexibility to meet operational requirements including hours and location of work.
• Proficiency in data entry.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a mobile collection’s environment.
• Working knowledge of Connect Care and MCIS.
• Excellent organizational, problem solving, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
• Strong commitment to confidentiality and professionalism.
• Leadership, customer service or change management courses.
