Our client is looking for a Labor Relations Specialist with at least three years of labour relations experience within a unionized environment.
Responsibilities: Reporting to the HR Director, the Labour Relations Specialist will perform the following duties:
Provide support and guidance to ensure the consistency of the delivery of labour relations matters across the organization.
Promote and support the compliance and interpretation of policies, procedures and collective agreements.
Handle and initiate employee investigations and support the delivery of corporate HR programs, policies and initiatives.
Identify the needs and concerns of the employees and provide labour relations support through coaching, guidance and advice to leaders regarding best practices.
Support leaders on all issues raised including collective agreement interpretation, policy and procedure implementation.
Qualifications:
University Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations or related discipline and/or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
CPHR Designation preferred.
Experience with collective agreement interpretation and best practices, grievance procedure discussions/resolutions.
Analytical, problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
