Overview

KPMG in Canada is dedicated to providing high school students the opportunity to explore career paths, develop skills and connect with peers and mentors through our programs and opportunities. Opportunities include working with experienced leaders, participating in workshops, events, applying for scholarships, and joining a community that values your unique perspectives.

The KPMG SPARK Scholarship, valued at $2,000, is open to 10 students across Canada.

KPMG in Canada is providing opportunities for academic and professional growth to students who are making an impact in their schools, teams, and communities, and who demonstrate an eagerness to create opportunities for themselves and for others.

What You Will Do

KPMG Spark Scholarship Application Process

Please submit the following by May 4th, 2025:

  1. Your latest transcript or report card;
  2. Confirmation of application to an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada for a full-time program;
  3. A 500-word maximum document (font 12, no double space) addressing the following prompt:

At KPMG in Canada, “do work that matters” means contributing meaningfully to our clients, people, and the communities we serve in ways both big and small. Not only do we participate in purposeful and impactful work every day, but the people at KPMG are encouraged to give to causes they are passionate about in their communities. Please provide two (2) examples of how you have done “work that matters” throughout your high school journey (CEGEP for Quebec). I.e., In your community, school, employment positions, etc.

Written document to be submitted through the iCIMS application, attached as a Cover Letter.

What You Bring To The Role

To be eligible for the KPMG SPARK Scholarship, you must:

  1. Be in your final year of secondary school (outside of Quebec) or CEGEP (in Quebec);
  2. Have a minimum overall grade average of 65% in your most recently completed school year;
  3. Have applied to an accredited post-secondary institution in Canada* (must be enrolled in a full-time program at the time of tuition fund transfers). The program applied to must be minimum one-year duration (university preparation programs in any jurisdiction are not eligible). You must be in a business or STEM program;
  4. Be a permanent resident or citizen of Canada;
  5. Attending the SPARK event held on November 23rd, 2024 is considered an asset.

FAQ

How does the recipient receive the funds upon being awarded the scholarship?

When the recipient is selected by KPMG, they must provide their enrollment confirmation (scholarship is conditional on this). After KPMG receives the enrollment confirmation, the funds will be sent directly to the Canadian post-secondary institution.

  • Their careers and lives reflect their vision, determination, and ability to create impactful and meaningful change for those around them, including making continual improvements in their communities through meaningful work.

    • Selected scholarship recipients are known for acting on opportunities and for actively creating opportunities for themselves.
    • Scholarship recipients set examples for others and are catalysts for positive and meaningful change.
  • Impact
    • Selected scholarship recipients are passionate about making a meaningful difference in their communities.
    • They understand that their actions affect those around them and choose to act in ways that provide tangible and long-lasting change.

    Recipients of the KPMG SPARK Scholarship 2025 will be contacted by the end of June 2025.
