Partnership and Knowledge Mobilization (KM) Coordinator
The Partnership for the Engagement of Patients in Pain Research (PEPR): Advancing EDI and building capacity for critical social science approaches to pain scholarship project is a SSHRC funded project grant. PEPR is aimed at developing a national network of people with lived experience of chronic pain and marginalization (PWLECPM), through the use of social science methods, and creating structures and mechanisms for them to actively engage in pain research, policy advocacy and practice change. The primary objective and purpose of this Partnership is therefore to create a Participant Engagement Research Hub (ParE Research Hub). More information about this partnership can be found at: https://www.pepr-partnership.org/
The focus of our Partnership is built upon principles of EDI. An EDI-D (equity, diversity, and inclusion) lens will be applied to our KM plans. Our co-created knowledge products will be assessed by our KM Working group for level of language and literacy (descriptive text) and to accommodate visual and/or hearing impairments (podcasts and large print, subtitled/closed captioning). Our dissemination efforts will target marginalized communities facilitating direct access to the knowledge and tools generated through this research.
The Partnership and Knowledge Mobilization Coordinator will support the KME Working Group by playing a key role in engaging partnership members, sharing information, coordinating activities, and other administrative forms of support for the work of the committees.
Role
This position reports directly to Fiona Webster (UWO) and to the Knowledge Mobilization and Exchange (KME) Working Group. The Knowledge Mobilization and Exchange (KME) Working Group (operations) will be responsible for assembling and disseminating action on the basis of new knowledge created by the research teams.
Responsibilities
Reporting structure
There is a Leadership Committee (operations) comprised minimally of a Director, two PWLE, a family doctor, a medical anthropologist, a children’s pain researcher, the Research Manager, and a trainee who will oversee all partnership activities. Team membership may change over time. The Partnership Committee (governance) is comprised of representatives from the 7 partner organizations plus at least 2 PWLE and a trainee.
