The Position

The Kitchen Services team is an integral part in the success of our Food and Beverage operations here at Casino Rama. We are looking for an energetic & enthusiastic person who loves to clean, organize & create a spotless working environment while supervising in a safe and fast paced productive manner.

The Kitchen Services Supervisor ensures hand and machine dish/pot cleaning is completed efficiently and possesses high standards of cleanliness to help assist in the smooth operations of all our food and beverage outlets. Organizational and planning skills are essential blended with a highly motivated and passionate human resource orientated leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coordinate and lead the daily operations of the Kitchen Services Department in an effective and efficient manner
  • Comply at all times with Casino Rama standards and regulations to ensure the C.R.E.W. is working in a safe manner
  • Control inventory of all cleaning compounds & supplies
  • Monitor & maintain inventory of all wares
  • Ensure clean and orderly conditions in all back-of-house kitchen areas
  • Clean and maintain dishwashing facilities and operate dishwashing equipment
  • Prepare & conduct coaching, counseling, recognition, Performance Management Documentation & Performance Reviews
  • Adhere to Federal and Provincial Health Codes
  • Adjust daily staffing levels to meet departmental budgets
  • Support all service teams to ensure they have items needed
  • Through participation, ensure assigned team tasks are effectively completed in a safe & productive manner (cleaning, ware washing & related projects)
  • Ensure wares, tools, chemicals & equipment, recycling & garbage are used, stored or disposed per standards
  • Respond to and resolve C.R.E.W. questions/concerns and address operational issues
  • Complete all forms as they pertain to Kitchen Services C.R.E.W. and operations
  • Ensure needs of Internal Guests are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Require

  • A minimum of 3 years working experience in a leadership role
  • Experience supervising a minimum of 15 staff members
  • Demonstrated experience providing excellent employee relations with co-workers
  • Able to lift heavy objects repeatedly during the course of a shift
  • Strong ability to effectively manage labour per shift
  • Reading and writing skills with ability to complete detailed shift logs
  • Knowledge of chemicals – their use, storage and able to train others
  • Good computer knowledge and comfortable working with MS Outlook, Word and Excel; Stratton Warren experience is preferred
  • Fully familiar with handling various cleaning materials, chemicals and equipment
  • Able to accurately count inventories
  • Able to work all shifts in a fast paced, stressful environment
  • French language skills (verbal and written) are an asset
  • Must have attained/or have the ability to attain prior to their start date the proof of completion certificate for the on-line Supervisor Health & Safety Awareness in 5 Steps program offered through the Ontario Ministry of Labor
  • All employees at Casino Rama are expected to:
  • Comply with the duties of workers or supervisors, as prescribed by Section 27 or 28 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
  • Comply with all applicable Casino Rama Occupational Health and Safety policies, procedures and protocols
  • Demonstrate a positive health and safety attitude to ensure Casino Rama continuously provides a safe entertainment destination for patrons and co-workers

Hours of work: Flexibility in a 24 hour, 7 day a week operation is required at all times; however, this position will be primarily scheduled the overnight shift on a regular basis. During the training period, the hours of work will be primarily during the day shifts.
