Kitchen Sales & Design Consultant Position

As a Cabinetry Sales & Design Consultant, you will be representing OakWood and engaging with potential clients. Kitchen Sales & Design Consultant Key Responsibilities

As a Kitchen Sales & Design Consultant, you will be responsible for managing new opportunities right from the initial contact through every step of the process as well as completing design and material selections for projects that are already sold. From design consultation to budget discussions, proposal development, and presentation, you'll be the face of OakWood, showcasing our capabilities and unique approach to engage and qualify potential clients, ensuring their excitement about what we can achieve for their project.

Your goal will be to close deals and achieve monthly and annual quotas/targets. You will play a vital role in our team by meeting with clients to understand their kitchen design requirements. Using design software, you will create innovative and functional design plans, layouts, elevations, and detailed drawings that align with the client's budget, schedule, and building code standards.

Your expertise will be valuable in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings. Additionally, you will provide valuable advice and assistance in selecting colours, finishes, and materials, such as cabinets, tiles, counters, fixtures, lighting, and flooring.

Efficiency is key, and you'll effectively multi-task, following the OakWood sales and design process while managing your time to work within the client's budget and allocated design time.

Collaboration is essential, and you'll liaise with other OakWood departments and team members to ensure quality and continuity throughout all stages of the project.

Furthermore, you will be dedicated to maintaining strong relationships with clients, ensuring an outstanding customer experience that sets us apart from the rest. Your commitment to excellence will be evident in every aspect of your work, reflecting the values of OakWood.

You'll independently source leads and build relationships through networking and events. Work location will be Bank Street and Taylor Creek Drive locations.

Kitchen Sales & Design Consultant Skills and Qualifications

To excel in the role of Kitchen Sales & Design Consultant at OakWood, we seek candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a design role.
  • Kitchen and cabinetry design experience is essential.
  • Familiarity with local building codes and their implications for design is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey great ideas quickly and clearly.
  • Proficiency with 2020 Design Software, Revit, and the Microsoft Office Suite is required.
  • A diploma or degree in Interior Design, NKBA, or related field is preferred, although a remarkable portfolio demonstrating your expertise will be considered.
  • A passion for learning, thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • A team player with a proactive, positive attitude, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year

Additional pay:

  • Commission pay

Schedule:

  • Every Weekend
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ottawa, ON K4A 0Z9: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

  • Sales: 3 years (preferred)
  • Cabinetry design: 3 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

  • Driving Licence (preferred)
