Key Account Representative – Retail Channel

We’re partnering with a leading name in the interior finishes segment of the building materials industryto identify a Key Account Representative – Retail to join their Canadian sales team. Reporting to the National Account Manager, you’ll take ownership of strategic retail accounts across Quebec (80% in the Greater Montreal Area) and support national initiatives with major retailers and big box partners.
This hybrid role combines direct account management, strategic input for national retail programs, and support forsales operations, making it ideal for a well-rounded sales professional who enjoys both the strategic and tactical sides of the business.
THE ROLE
Drive Growth with Quebec-Based Key Accounts
- Manage and nurture a defined territory of established retail and contractor-focused lumberyards
- Build strong, consultative relationships with buyers, managers, and marketing teams
- Develop and grow select builder accounts (low-rise and multi-family residential markets)
- Expand market share with a focus on new product categories and increased wallet share
- Provide market insights to support new product development and merchandising strategy
- Present the brands value proposition and support new business development opportunities
- Execute strategic sales plans and achieve annual sales targets
- Ensure product assortments, planograms, and merchandising meet customer and brand standards
Support National Big Box Retail Account Strategy
- Supporting the National Account Manager, assist with national coordination for big box retail accounts
- Maintain online assortments and manage SKU setup processes
- Foster cross-functional communication between sales, marketing, operations, and product teams
REQUIREMENTS
- Bilingual (French / English) with strong communication and presentation skills
- Experienced in retail sales of building materials products, ideally with exposure to both independent and big box channels
- Strategic thinker with an eye for growth opportunities and market trends
- Comfortable navigating both in-store environments and corporate office settings
- Detail-oriented with strong coordination and follow-through abilities
