Lanarkshire Rape Crisis Centre (LRCC), established in 2004, is an independent charity with the objective of relieving the distress and improving the welfare of women and girls who, at any time in their lives, have been subjected to any form of sexual violence. LRCC works collaboratively with 17 Rape Crisis Centres across Scotland who also adhere to National Service Standards.

Today we deliver on the following:

  • Provide trauma informed therapeutic support to women and girls who have experienced rape and all forms of sexual violence (aged 12+) as well as their friends, family, partners, and workers. We also provide crisis support options for male survivors and survivors of all gender identities.
  • Provide advocacy support to those considering or engaging with the criminal justice process; there are 4 justice advocacy practitioner positions currently operating in Lanarkshire. The team manager provides induction, training, and ongoing support to this post.
  • Work in partnership with communities, partner agencies, and other key stakeholders to improve understanding of gender-based violence, provide trauma informed responses to survivors of sexual violence, and develop community level prevention initiatives.
  • Deliver prevention work with young people as part of the Rape Crisis Scotland National Prevention Programme and specific prevention project work funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

Background Information: National Advocacy Service

The National Advocacy Service is funded by the Scottish Government, with the fund being administered by Rape Crisis Scotland and delivered by local rape crisis centres. The service aims to provide support and advocacy to survivors who have engaged or are considering engaging with the criminal justice system following a sexual crime.

The broad objectives are:

  • An improvement in the support available to survivors of rape and serious sexual crime.
  • An improvement in the experience of the criminal justice process for survivors of rape and serious sexual crime.
  • The development of a better understanding of motivations whether or not to proceed within the criminal justice process, and what difference advocacy support makes to this decision.

The Centre is based in central Hamilton; however, justice advocacy practitioners spend parts of their working time in locations such as court buildings and police stations. This post is funded by the Scottish Government and is classed as maternity cover for a period of 10 months.

Purpose of the post:

The overall aim of this post is to provide support and justice advocacy to survivors who are engaged, or considering engaging, with the criminal justice system following an experience of sexual violence.

This is a key role in Glasgow and Clyde Rape Crisis Centre’s Core service that provides specific support services to girls and women. The role requires a strong commitment to anti-discriminatory and equality work and must demonstrate experience working directly with girls and women. The post holder will be comfortable and confident in representing the service externally across agencies. Experience and understanding of working within an organisation within a feminist, equality, and human rights framework is preferable for this role. Joining an already established team, this role will work for the Service Manager for the Project whilst also being accountable for maintaining and applying the values, principles, and competencies for the role to the Director of the Centre. This role is possible due to funding received from Delivering Equally Safe.

Location: Glasgow City Centre Head Office and community bases in Glasgow, Inverclyde, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire, East Dunbartonshire, and West Dunbartonshire.

  • Remote: Home based, with some travel where required.

SWAN is an autistic-led Charity run for and by autistic women, girls, and non-binary people across Scotland.

The post holder will deliver a range of neuro-affirming services and support for autistic women and non-binary people, as well as training and workshops for professionals and allies wishing to develop their knowledge and understanding of autistic people.

The postholder will have at least 2 years’ relevant experience (e.g. group facilitation, 1-2-1 support, peer support, training delivery and/or working with autistic people or other marginalised communities).

For this Lived Experience role, it is essential that the Project Worker is autistic (by formal diagnosis or self-identified). You will need to be comfortable with openly disclosing and discussing related experiences in group and open online sessions, public and professional meetings, and in a training context.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a part-time member of staff to provide advice, advocacy, support, and services to children, young people, and families who have experienced domestic abuse. Applicants should have experience of providing support in a relevant social care setting.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as flexible hours to suit the needs of families. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
