JOB SUMMARY

As a Jr. Underwriter you will be responsible for providing high level support to our customers in the legal community. You will work within the Residential Solutions Operations team to complete simple underwriting deals as well as work on complex orders. You will also train and assist new representatives with new tasks and ongoing quality control monitoring. Attention to detail is crucial to this role along with the ability to explain and understand complex ideas. In your role as a Jr. Underwriter, you will be a Subject Matter Expert on residential transactions and will share that knowledge with the team and our clients.

HERE’S HOW YOU’LL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Maintain phone queue and live chat coverage
  • Provide support and training to new and existing Customer Support Specialists
  • Underwrite and issue title insurance policies for residential real estate transactions and issue Homeowner policies for MMS deals
  • Assist with Quality Control monthly checks
  • Receive and process orders for title insurance by phone, fax or internet
  • Educate and advise lawyers on any issues relating to their specific files

HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

  • At least one year experience as a Customer Service Specialist
  • Law Clerk Diploma; 1-2 years experience working in a law firm
  • Able to review title searches, knowledge of the practice of real estate law, including an understanding of the mechanics of a real estate transaction
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong understanding or processing and underwriting guidelines
  • Professional and customer service focused with strong communication skills
