Junior Software Developer

CES Energy Solutions is a dynamic and growing North American oilfield services company listed on the TSX as CEU with revenue of over $2 billion. It is one of the largest providers of production chemicals and drilling fluid systems and is focused on being the leading provider of technically advanced chemical solutions throughout the life cycle of the oilfield.

We are looking for a Junior Software Developer who would be responsible to help build and maintain a variety of software applications, including web apps, mobile apps, desktop apps, integrations, APIs, and customizations in third-party applications. This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to gain development skills while solving problems for a large multinational corporation on a tight-knit team.

General Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development and maintenance of custom-built in-house applications.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of web APIs.
• Work with the development team, applications team, and users on testing and implementation of applications.
• Troubleshoot issues and help create solutions relating to our custom applications, APIs, and customizations of third-party applications.
• Other duties as required.

Skills and Experience:

• Up to 2 years experience working as a software developer.
• Undergraduate degree or diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science.
• Working knowledge in C#/.NET or similar Object-Oriented Programming language.
• Working knowledge of SQL/databases.
• Experience using source control systems such as Azure DevOps, GitHub, etc.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to Have Skills and Experience:

• Experience using Blazor/Razor to create web applications using C#/.NET.
• Experience using and writing web services (SOAP, REST, WCF services passing data in either XML or JSON formats).
• Knowledge of HTML/Javascript/CSS would be an asset.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009/2012 databases or X++ coding.
• Experience with mobile application development (Swift on iOS or Kotlin on Android).
