As part of our Land Development team, you’ll be supporting a dynamic group of lawyers and clerks with day-to-day tasks and legal administrative support. About the Team:

  • 3 lawyers, 2 clerks, and 1 Senior clerk
  • Core hours: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Hybrid work model: 2 days remote, 3 days in the office

The Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support in various areas of land development and real estate, including administrative tasks, document preparation, client communications, and more. Although some real estate experience is beneficial, deep experience is not required; a positive attitude and a willingness to learn are most important. This is an ideal position for someone eager to start or build their career in real estate law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Open and close files for real estate and land development transactions
  • Assist with maintaining a database for real estate closings, monitoring updates to closing dates and amendments
  • Assist in data entry and maintain organized files for active transactions
  • Process condominium deposits and maintain monthly deposit reports
  • Prepare monthly reports for clients regarding real estate transactions
  • Prepare and manage billing, schedules, and deadlines for the team
  • Support clerks and lawyers with daily administrative tasks and legal processes
  • Use Unity and iManage to manage and process documents, monitor updates, and maintain records
  • Assist with invoicing and other financial administrative tasks
  • Perform general administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and maintaining calendars
  • Provide other administrative support as needed

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Post-secondary education in Legal Administration or equivalent
  • At least 1-2 years of experience in real estate or legal administration (land development experience is a plus)
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Unity (GhostPractice and iManage knowledge is a bonus)
  • Familiarity with maintaining databases, tracking amendments, and closing dates
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive, can-do attitude with no ego and a team-oriented mindset
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and confidentiality
  • Familiarity with real estate and land development processes would be an asset
  • Strong data entry and invoicing experience
