Junior Financial Analyst, Treasury Operations

Responsibilities :
- Support daily operational activities related to cash management and treasury functions.
- Generate management-level reports and provide analytical insights into balance sheet trends, including analysis of:
- Liquid investments;
- Lending and mortgage portfolios;
- Deposits (non-maturity, term, retail, wholesale);
- Capital structure.
- Monitor internal and external events impacting portfolio growth and funding strategies.
- Analyze daily pricing data on loan and deposit products to assess profitability.
- Promote data-driven decision-making by enhancing operational efficiency through Excel, VBA, Power Query, and SQL.
- Maintain a strong risk-aware approach in daily tasks.
- Stay current on industry trends and ensure compliance with regulatory initiatives.
- Recommend strategic funding options based on market conditions.
- Participate in projects to expand banking products and services.
What you will need to succeed :
- CFA designation or progress toward CFA is an asset.
- 0–2 years of experience in a similar role; strong new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Experience in treasury or finance within the banking sector is a strong asset.
- 2+ years experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Hands-on experience with SQL and working with large data sets.
- Strong analytical, logical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and sound judgment in reporting.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and adapt to changing business needs.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of financial environments.
- Willingness to take initiative, ask questions, and seek process improvements.
- Programming/coding skills (e.g. Python, SAS, Power Apps, Business Objects) are considered assets.
