Junior Environmental Technician

ENTRY LEVEL/JUNIOR ENVIRONMENTAL FIELD TECH

We are seeking a dedicated Junior Environmental Field Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting environmental data and samples from various sites and assisting in environmental analysis and reporting.

The ideal candidate should be able to adhere to all safety and procedural guidelines during the collection and handling of specimens and have a familiarity with environmental testing equipment and fieldwork.

Duties, but not limited to:

1. Carry out field assignments in a variety of weather and geographical conditions.
2. Collect soil, water and air samples from assigned locations.
3. Perform environmental testing and data collection.
4. Document all findings and maintain records of all fieldwork activities.
5. Assist in the preparation of environmental assessment reports.
6. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations during field visits.
7. Operate and maintain field testing equipment.
8. Complete simple drawings using AutoCAD.
9. Communicate effectively with team members and project managers about field observations and review findings.
10. Assist in the development of environmental remediation plans.
11. Travel to different locations for fieldwork.
12. Project management skills – Ability to understand minor construction projects.

Qualifications:

1. Proven work experience as an Environmental Technician or similar role, is considered an asset. Experience in field data collection and sample handling is considered an asset.
2. Some knowledge of environmental laws and regulations is considered an asset. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
3. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Ability to be flexible with given tasks.
4. Clean driving record. Driver’s abstract will be required of successful candidate.

Starting pay rate $20/hr. Rate of pay will be determined by skill level. Serious candidates only please.
