Vertex is currently accepting applications for a Junior Environmental Scientist to join our team in the Greater Toronto Area. The ideal candidates will have experience in plant, wetland and wildlife identification, soil classification, detailed site assessments (DSAs) and/or weed spraying. The successful candidates will also possess a keen eye for detail, be critical thinkers, and will enjoy working in the field for extended periods of time. Reporting to an Environmental Project Manager, the individual must be willing to travel and take additional responsibilities as the position/project evolves. Previous environmental experience is considered an asset.
Responsibilities will vary depending on the candidate’s strengths and areas of interest. The responsibilities included below are inclusive of a range of skill sets that Vertex will require to execute programs and projects. Field work is a requirement, approximately 90% or more of time will be allocated to the field.
This position will be based out of Ontario - within 75km of the Greater Toronto Area is preferred. This position will be both home and field based.
