Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for a Junior Project Cost Analyst. Our team includes world-class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Sudbury, Ontario. The chosen candidate must reside full-time in Sudbury or be willing to self-relocate. This is a hybrid position.
The successful individual will prepare project cost reports, monitor man-hours and cost progress to establish trends, and assist in forecasting future costs. They will initiate the preparation of estimates for contract scope changes or extra work orders and make periodic site visits to review cost reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Build strong positive relationships while providing the Project Manager with the most recent information regarding the capital project to facilitate decision-making.
- Assist Project Managers with control and reporting of the project.
- Coordinate project management resources for the project.
- Develop, coordinate, manage, and take ownership of efficient project administration systems for Projects, including database records and updates, maintenance, and management of data associated with key delivery milestones and key Project performance indicator measures.
- Develop, coordinate, and manage procedures to ensure the efficient cost and schedule reporting and cost control of Projects, including the recording, controlling, forecasting, and reporting of all financial matters.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Strong experience in the Mining, Metals, and Minerals industry.
- Strong analytical skills and critical thinking.
- Experience working on major EPCM and/or EPC (LSTK) contracts.
- Understanding of the role of procurement in relation to project controls and procurement systems.
- High level of project coordination skills with the ability to apply technical skills, creativity, innovation, multi-tasking, risk analysis, and effective problem-solving ability.
- Strong experience in data management systems and reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to all levels of customers and employees.
- Strong customer focus and proven skills in building long-term customer relationships.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment and manage competing priorities.
- Strong collaboration skills that enable you to build strong, positive relationships with diverse groups.
- Alignment with our values of safety above all else, respect, raising the bar, commitments matter, and doing the right thing.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- Intermediate understanding of systems, processes, and tools specifically related to the field.
- A highly motivated individual with a continuous improvement mindset, strong analytical skills, and decision-making capacity.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related fields is ideal, or similar working experience.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
- Experience with estimating software and EcoSys is required.
- The individual must reside in Sudbury or be able/willing to self-relocate.
