Hours: 41 hours per week, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday to Friday, with Tuesdays being 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Salary: $17.50 - $19.11 per hour

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
As a member of the Community Services Department, these positions will assist the Senior Leader(s) to provide safe supervision and to organize and implement games and activities for children ages 4 to 17 years.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent the City of Belleville in a professional manner with appropriate actions and conduct.
- Ensure the safety and supervision of the participants and follow all rules and regulations set out by the Department and/or outside organizations.
- Assist with the development, implementation, supervision and evaluation of the daily activities, to ensure a successful program.
- Assist with the proper handling and care of the equipment, supplies and facilities utilized, and reporting damage or losses to the Camp Coordinator(s).
- Assist with the daily cleanliness of the facility.
- Assist with the completion of the required administrative forms (i.e., accident forms, supply requests, special event forms, etc.).
- Staff will be required to participate in daily activities with the campers (including swimming).
- Act as Senior Leader if the Senior Leader is required, if qualified.
- Supervise participants during the after-hours service, when scheduled.
- Attend all staff training sessions and scheduled staff meetings.

JUNIOR LEADER (GENERAL):
Number of Positions Available: 7
These positions will be general in nature and be associated with a variety of games and activities throughout the summer.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum enrolled in High School or equivalent.
- Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification.
- Hold the High Five, Healthy Child Development certification.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience leading children's activities like crafts, games, music, sports.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education in child/youth related fields considered as asset.
- Babysitting Course or a Leader in Training certifications is considered an asset.
- Previous experience as a camp leader or volunteer.
JUNIOR LEADER – WATER SPORTS:
Number of Positions Available: 1
This position will focus specifically on aquatic related sports and activities along with regular camp games and activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum enrolled in High School or equivalent.
- Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification.
- Hold the High Five, Healthy Child Development certification.
- Hold a current Bronze Cross certification.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education in child/youth related fields considered as asset.
- Babysitting Course or a Leader in Training certifications is considered an asset.
- National Lifeguard or Swimming Instructor qualifications.
- ORCA certification.
- NCCP Coaching certifications.
JUNIOR LEADER – THEATRE CAMP:
Number of Positions Available: 1
This position will focus specifically on theatre and drama related activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum enrolled in High School or equivalent.
- Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification.
- Hold the High Five, Healthy Child Development certification.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience leading children's activities like crafts, games, music, sports.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education in child/youth related fields considered as asset.
- Babysitting Course or a Leader in Training certifications is considered an asset.
- Experience in theatre either as a participant or work/volunteer experience.
JUNIOR LEADER – SPORTS CAMP:
Number of Positions Available: 1
This position will focus specifically on sports and recreation related activities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum enrolled in High School or equivalent.
- Hold a current Standard First Aid and C.P.R. certification.
- Hold the High Five, Healthy Child Development certification.
- Previous experience working with children.
- Experience as a participant in sport discipline(s).
- Experience leading children's activities like crafts, games, music, sports.
ASSET QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post secondary education in child/youth related fields considered as asset.
- Bronze Cross, National Lifeguard, or Swim Instructor swimming qualification is an asset.
- Babysitting Course or a Leader in Training certifications is considered an asset.
- Experience coaching/instructing sport programs to children of various ages.
- Experience as a sport referee or official.
- Completion of a Leader-In-Training program.
- Previous experience as a camp leader or volunteer.
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
Stage 1 – Interviews: Interviews will be scheduled with successful candidates between February 15, 2025 and March 1, 2025.
Stage 2 – Offer letter and Onboarding Paperwork: Offers will go out before the end of March 2025 and an onboarding paperwork date will be included in your offer letter for documents to be returned.
Stage 3 – Start Date: This anticipated commencement of this position is June 20, 2025 until August 29, 2025.
