Description

As a Junior Buyer, you will perform purchasing and procurement functions for an assigned area. The right candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining inventory levels to meet Company requirements for nonperishable merchandise and supplies. This is an entry-level position.

Responsibilities

As our Junior Buyer, you will:

1. Conduct daily reviews and order placements utilizing the E3 buying system to maintain excellent service levels.
2. Accomplish inventory turn, profitability, and minimum aged inventory goals.
3. Perform daily reviews of reporting for assigned items/vendors including buyer out of stocks, inventory adjustments, and order expediting.
4. Interact with vendors, customers, and departments regarding purchasing procedures and status of orders.
5. Provide excellent Service Level Management.
6. Focus on promotional inventory projections and procurement based on programs communicated by the Category Manager.
7. Communicate with the Category Manager regarding suggested item deletions.
8. Maintain data information, files, reports, and price lists on assigned commodities.
9. Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

This position requires an Associates degree in business and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The right candidate will also possess strong organizational skills and computer experience, including Microsoft Office applications.
