As a Junior Business Analyst, you will assist finance staff with performing various tasks. Primary duties include:

  • Contribute to special projects and participate in month-end close activities to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct analyses to support investment decisions, investor relations, and funding strategies.
  • Review and validate external published reports for accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee expense reporting and transaction accuracy, manage financial documentation, and ensure compliance with policies.
  • Develop and modernize budgeting processes, manage reserve funds, and implement improvements in financial procedures.
  • Contribute to refining and improving processes and documentation across different Finance functional areas.

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED) and 3 - 6 courses recognized by Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with at least 2 years of post-secondary education with a major in Business, Accounting or a related field.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft Financials or an equivalent financial application would be considered an asset.
  • Previous experience and/or working knowledge of PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Chain Management (FSCM), SAP Business Objects and Power BI would be considered an asset.
  • Have demonstrated organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate policies, a high attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Compensation: Pay Grade 5 $30.29 - 40.48 per hour (2024 Rates)

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
